The Sheet Report exists because bedding search results are dominated by two kinds of page: advertiser marketing wearing a review costume, and syndicated press releases wearing a news costume. This site is a third kind: assessments built only from what can be verified — manufacturer documentation, consumer-protection records, peer-reviewed research — with every source published and every unverifiable claim either labelled or left out.

Sam Winters is the review editor of The Sheet Report — a pen name used by the site's small, independent Belgian publishing team, disclosed here so nothing about this site asks for blind trust. What matters is checkable either way: assessments are compiled from manufacturer documentation, consumer-protection records and peer-reviewed research — never from imagined hands-on testing — and every claim links to its source so readers can verify the work themselves.

How we assess

1. Evidence
This assessment was produced from published evidence — manufacturer specifications, independent consumer reviews, and third-party reporting — not from hands-on testing. Where we could not verify a claim, we say so rather than repeating it.

2. Sourcing
We use manufacturer pages and policy documents, consumer-protection records (BBB, complaint platforms, courts and regulators), and peer-reviewed research. We do not use syndicated press releases, advertiser-supplied review counts, or review-shaped affiliate pages — and platforms we cannot read (Trustpilot blocks automated access) are marked 'unmeasured', never assumed clean.

3. Scoring
Scores are editorial syntheses of the assembled evidence on a 0–10 scale — not lab measurements and not aggregated user ratings. Each score component carries a note explaining what drove it, so you can disagree with the weighting on the record.

4. Review and update
Pages carry their last-updated date. Prices, policies and consumer records change; when we learn one has, the page changes with it. Corrections go to hello@thesheetreport.com.
Why trust us
Every claim carries a source you can click
Specifications come from manufacturer pages, consumer records from bodies like the BBB, science from peer-reviewed journals — and each page lists its citations. If we couldn't verify something, we say so instead of repeating it.
We publish the unflattering findings too
One of the two products we've assessed carries an F from the Better Business Bureau and an unanswered advertising challenge. That's on its review page, prominently — commissions never edit the evidence.
No invented testing, ever
This site does not claim hands-on trials it hasn't done. Assessments are explicitly documentary — which also means you can check every input we used, something no 'we slept on it for three weeks' review can offer.
Editorial standards
We earn a commission if you buy through links on this page, at no extra cost to you. That commission never decides what we recommend — our assessments are written before any link is placed, and we publish the sources behind every claim.
